With the digital age in its infancy we follow the story of Hana, a university photography student, who goes to Canada to study for a semester. She discovers who she is and finds love in a unique family she never knew existed. Hana begins her journey arriving at university alone and as the only British students studying there. She finds a friend in her student accommodation, Sophie, who takes her out of the city and introduces her to Fred and Harry.

Fred falls for Hana and a relationship begins. But Hana isn’t sure if he is the one for her.

We follow Hana's journey though the lenses of her camera, she photographs everything, including Shea. A fellow film student to Hana finds intriguing. Shea invites Hana into her world. Shea works at a Queer bar and the people there are Shea’s family. Hana gets to know them and begins to photograph them for her University project. Hana finds a new love with Shea. Hana enters a world that she feels comfortable with and happy in. Sophie, Fred and Harry are homophobic and threaten Hana and Shea’s world. Fred things he has been used and thinks he is a laughing stock to his friends for falling for a queer. Fred takes drastic action resulting in Homophobic hate crime and Shea’s death.

 

This story is inspired but true events and acknowledges the tragedy's over the world that continue to happen to this date to the LGBTQ community at their only safe havens, bars and clubs. The film shows Hana’s journey though her pictures and pays homage the unique people in the LGBTQ family and Hana’s new family.
